FAQ

Every Med Kit is customized during the included physician consultation.

Simply complete your purchase, schedule your consultation, and discuss your customization needs with your Duration Health physician. If medications are added or removed during your physician consultation, the price of your Med Kit will be adjusted accordingly, and you'll be invited to pay the difference or receive a full refund.

No. Each medication is prescribed to one individual only, and intended for use by one individual only. You can add medications for other individuals in the same household after your initial purchase.

The Adult Kit includes medications for one adult. The Family Kit includes medications for one adult and one child, prescribed and packaged separately, sold together in one order for your convenience.

People in separate households should purchase separate kits.

Looking to equip your entire team? We can work with your organization to get each individual his or her own kit. Contact us at [email protected].

Medications in our Med Kits generally have a shelf life of at least 1 year, with some items valid for 2 years or longer.

When medications in your Med Kit are nearing expiration, we'll reach out to renew those medications. You can renew all medications in your Med Kit at once, or replace the medications over time. You can also decide to renew some of the medications and not others. Because every Med Kit is built to order, we're flexible. As with any prescription, renewal of prescription medications must be approved by your Duration Health provider.

How much does it cost to renew? You will never pay more to renew your Med Kit than you paid for your initial Med Kit, and usually substantially less. Renewal costs depend on exactly which medications are in your Med Kit.

Yes. To facilitate international travel, each prescription medication in our kits is individually prescribed to you by one of our doctors, and individually labeled with your name, the doctor's name, and the details of the medication.

Our kits never contain narcotics or controlled substances, which are restricted in many countries.

Be sure to travel with the medications in their original vials. If your kit is inspected during travel, the original vials will serve as evidence of your valid prescriptions.

Additionally, TSA policy permits air travel with medication that has been prescribed to you by a physician. In accordance with this policy, each prescription medication in our kits is individually prescribed to you by one of our doctors, and individually labeled with your name, the doctor's name, and the details of the medication.

Your payment is fully refundable at any time until your Med Kit ships, even after the physician consultation. Walk away any time before your Med Kit ships and pay nothing. Once your Med Kit ships, your purchase of those medications is nonrefundable.

Advance prescribing, also known as prophylactic prescribing, is the practice of providing medications to have on hand in case they are needed in the future.

When you purchase a Med Kit, you'll complete a mandatory physician consultation before any prescriptions are provided to you. During the consultation, we’ll ask you questions to determine what type of prophylactic prescriptions might be appropriate for your circumstances.

Our provider will ensure you understand the risks and benefits of the medications and supplies you’ll receive. During this process, the provider will also discuss with you the importance of using these products only if truly necessary, and will require you to agree that you'll use these products for their intended purpose only.

In most circumstances, one course of each medication is provided. For example, when treating a skin infection, a standard regimen is amoxicillin-clavulanate twice per day for 7 days, for a total of 14 tabs, and that's the amount of amoxicillin-clavulanate we provide.

The specific course, amount, and strength most commonly provided for each medication is listed in the detail page of each medication, under "When should I use it?"

However, every prescription is written to match each patient's needs, so quantities will vary. If you feel your circumstances require a different quantity of a particular medication, discuss this with your Duration Health provider at the time of your video visit.

No problem. We use the base configuration as a starting point, and then our doctors work with you from there to figure out exactly which medications are right for you. Our doctors consider not only your allergies, but also other medications you may be taking or medical problems you have had in the past.

No kit of medications can be right for everyone, which is why each of our kits is custom built in consultation with our doctors.

Once you complete your Med Kit purchase, you'll receive an email to complete consent paperwork and schedule a face-to-face consultation with one of our providers via videoconference. Your Duration Health provider will review each medication with you and confirm that all medications are appropriate.

After your video visit, you will receive a proposal with the contents and finalized price of your customized Med Kit. If medications are added or removed during your physician consultation, the price of your Med Kit will be adjusted accordingly, and you'll be invited to pay the difference or receive a full refund.
